“As an undocumented person in this country, life has not been simple. Pursuing a post-secondary education has definitely been a challenge. I remember the day I received my acceptance letter from so many universities but with the lack of funding, I decided to attend Grand Rapids Community College! At GRCC I learned to become more outspoken because I was surrounded by people in the same situation as I was in. We learned to advocate for ourselves and others which lead me to transfer to the University of Michigan after obtaining my associate degree. This spring, I will be graduating with a Sociology degree at the University of Michigan!!! I plan to pursue a Masters in Social Work and Public Policy to become an agent of change. I was able to fund my education thanks to private scholarships like the one from Marvin Law Office, PC. I am thankful that the Marvin Law Office, PC has taken the initiative to support students financially. I encourage other offices to rise up to the plate and provide financial support to DACAmented/undocumented students. I am undocumented, unafraid, and unapologetic! I know that no label can stop me from attaining my goals. Who do you want to be?" -Daniel Lopez, Marvin Law Office Scholarship Winner 2018 Who is Eligible?
